Updated: Jun 28, 2023

Oral Care with Natural solutions

The 1st thing I am going to say in this blog is I am not a Dr, I am not a dentist,  and I am only sharing some great natural solutions I use in my routine.  There is not any huge studies into why some of these things work.  Just speaking   from my experiences .  Anytime I find things that work really well I have to share.  My expectation is everyone reading this is you chose what they think might work for them. We are going to learn about Oil pulling, using  activated charcoal to whiten and clean, and making our own products.

A few facts about your mouth first

Our mouths have up to 700 types of bacteria in them.  Up to 350 types can be found at any one time.  Poor oral hygiene can lead to gum disease and cavities, also has been linked to heart disease, cancer and diabetes.  We all know we need to care of our teeth to KEEP our teeth and that should be enough right but if it is not, those things open your eyes and want you to take a few extra minutes a day taking care of them.

What you probably know already.

*Brush your teeth 2 or 3 times a day.

*floss at least once a day

*avoid sugary soda and treats

*avoid tobacco

*see the dentist at least twice a year

Some new and natural solutions

Oil Pulling

Its kind of all the rage but has been around for 100’s of years.  Kind of intimidating when you hear your supposed to do it for 15 to 20 minutes.  That is not necessary when you start.  But I have found it goes fast if you do it while you are long other things. Laundry, vacuuming, cooking dinner.

Why Oil Pull?

*Can help reduce bad breath

*May help prevent cavities

*Reduce inflammation and improve gum health

*May naturally whiten teeth

*Cheap way to add anti inflammatory and anti bacterial properties to your oral care routine

How do I oil Pull?

I tablespoon of Coconut oil  OR Olive oil OR sesame Oil

Swish in mouth for 15 to 20 minutes (you may want to work up to that)

Spit in TRASH CAN not in sink or shower

I make mine ahead of time in a little ice cube tray

I melt 1 cup coconut oil let cool a bit,  add 5 drops Melaleuca and 5 drops clove pour into a silicone  ice-cube tray. Put in fridge to solidify.  Pop out cut on half store in a Tupperware container in the fridge.  Let it melt in your mouth and  swish for 15 to 20 minutes.

Activated Charcoal???  Is it for you?

1st its messy.  Its pitch black! But I love how clean my mouth feels and I personally feel like my teeth are whiter.  This is a mixed bag some think it does whiten others not so much but most everyone loves how it makes their mouth feel.  You have to rinse SEVERAL times after you use it.  Here’s how I use it I only do it once a week.  I put a drop of clove or on guard on my toothbrush dip in a little bowl of charcoal.  Then I am off to the shower yep the shower.  Lots less mess.  After I am done I use my water pik.  It gets all the charcoal out of any hard to reach areas.  Is it worth the effort YES yes YES! I do believe it is.

As I wrap up I have a couple more things I truly love and use daily.  I have to say the toothpaste it took a little time to get used too.  But I love it now.  Also our homemade mouthwash is so refreshing and cleansing.

I hope you found this educational and will think about trying these solutions in your home.  Not a customer yet?  Did you know you can become my customer and get my full support no matter where you live?
